Durham Regional Police say they are investigating after an apartment building was struck by gunfire in Oshawa. Police say members of Central East Division responded to multiple reports of gunshots at an apartment complex in the area of Hall Street and Centre Street South at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 26, 2026, and located a number of shell casings outside the front entrance of the building.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark-coloured sedan fleeing the area following the incident, police say. The vehicle was stolen out of Toronto and has since been recovered by police, according to the release.

Investigators determined that the building's front door and side windows had been struck by gunfire, causing damage to the property, police say. No injuries have been reported to police, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information about the incident, including dash camera, security camera or cellphone footage, is asked to contact investigators at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 1705, police say.
