Mark Gordon, 33, was sentenced on Oct. 27, 2026, in Oshawa to two concurrent life sentences, with no eligibility for parole for 21 years, after pleading guilty in September 2025 to two counts of second-degree murder, Global News reported from court. The sentence was imposed by Justice Michelle Fuerst.

Patrick Montgomery, 42, and Andrieana Montgomery, 42, were shot on July 13, 2024, on Glenforest Street in Oshawa. Gordon apologized in court and accepted sole blame for the killings, and the judge described the attack as extremely violent and callous, with the victims defenceless, according to the court reporting.

The Crown had sought 23 years before parole eligibility, while the defence suggested 15 to 18 years, the updated court report said. Gordon's guilty plea admitted the shootings, and the life sentences were imposed by the court.
