The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission published a procedural direction on October 23, 2026, following Part 2 of the public hearing into Ontario Power Generation's application to refurbish the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station and renew its Pickering Nuclear Generating Station and Waste Management Facility licences.

Part 2 of the hearing was held October 6–9, 2026, following Part 1 on June 23, 2026. The application seeks authorization to refurbish the station and renew its licences.

The October 23 document is a procedural direction following the hearing, not the Commission's final decision on the application. The direction is published on the Commission's hearing-documents page for the October 6–9, 2026 Part 2 public hearing.
