The City of Pickering is closing three playgrounds this fall for full reconstructions, posting notices for Glengrove Park, Pinegrove Park and Bay Ridges Kinsmen Park on October 21.

Glengrove Park's playground is closed from Monday, October 19 to Friday, November 27 for new playground equipment and replacement of the existing engineered wood fibre safety surfacing. Pinegrove Park's playground is closed from Tuesday, October 20 to Friday, November 27, getting new senior playground equipment, replacement engineered wood fibre safety surfacing, and accessible ramps into both playground areas. Bay Ridges Kinsmen Park's playground is closed from Monday, October 19 to Wednesday, November 11, with new playground equipment including rubberized safety surfacing plus new swing equipment with new engineered wood fibre safety surfacing.

The City cautions the posted dates are estimates and may shift due to weather, contractor and material availability, or unexpected conditions found once crews begin digging. Questions can go to Jia Dhatt, Coordinator of Parks Development, at 905.420.4660 ext. 2060, or the City's Service Disruption Line at 1.866.278.9993.

All three notices were posted October 21, 2026, and all families using the parks are asked to plan around the closures while the work is completed.
