The City of Pickering has extended the temporary closure of Glenanna Road to Monday, November 2.

Glenanna Road is closed between Pickering Parkway and the south limit of The Esplanade South, including the west sidewalk. The closure began Tuesday, October 13 and is now roughly three weeks longer than originally planned.

The purpose is to allow the Region of Durham to install a new sanitary sewer and watermain in the corridor. Both vehicle and pedestrian detours are in place, and the City says all applicable signage will be posted.

The stretch sits near the Pickering Civic Complex, so residents heading to City Hall, the Central Library or the recreation complex should plan extra travel time. Residents with questions can contact the City's Engineering Services Department at 905-420-4660 ext. 2077 or ext. 2030.
