The City of Pickering will host its low-cost rabies and microchip clinic on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex (O'Brien Room), 1867 Valley Farm Road, according to the city's rabies prevention page.
Cats-only appointments run from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by dogs and cats from 12 to 3 p.m. Each service costs $30, with cash preferred, and the clinic is first come, first served with no appointments necessary.
Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. Dogs with characteristics of a pit bull under the Dog Owners' Liability Act must wear a muzzle. The clinic is supported by the Durham Region Health Department and the participating veterinary clinic, Millennium City.
The city notes that the raccoon rabies strain has been confirmed in Ontario, though it has not been identified in Pickering, and urges residents to keep their pets' vaccinations up to date.
