West Division officers responded at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, to a collision involving a motor vehicle and an electric scooter at Whites Road and Finch Avenue in Pickering.

A grey Toyota Sienna travelling northbound on Whites Road was making a right turn when it collided with the scooter in the crosswalk. The 16-year-old rider was taken to a Toronto area trauma centre with life-altering injuries and was reported in stable condition.

The 43-year-old driver remained at the scene and was co-operating with police. The cause of the collision was still under investigation.
