Durham Regional Police Service is asking for the public's help identifying a suspect in a theft from a motor vehicle and fraud investigation in Clarington.

Police say that on July 7, 2026, the suspect entered an unlocked vehicle parked at a Clarington residence and stole a wallet containing credit cards. The stolen cards were later used to make unauthorized purchases. Investigators also believe the suspect may be responsible for another theft from a motor vehicle in the same area.

The suspect is described as a man approximately 40 to 60 years old, with a bald or closely shaved head, a light-coloured goatee and a medium build. He was wearing a maroon or red shirt, a black, white and grey plaid overshirt, dark-coloured pants rolled above the ankles, white socks and white athletic shoes with dark laces.

Anyone with information is asked to contact D/Cst. Salesman of the Central East Criminal Investigations Branch at 905-579-1520 ext. 1605.
