Clarington: DRT updates Route 502 detour in Bowmanville through Dec 1

Durham Region Transit has issued an updated detour for Route 502 through the Liberty Street construction zone in Bowmanville, effective Wednesday, October 21 until Tuesday, December 1, 2026. The transit agency posted the alert on October 23, 2026.

Westbound buses detour via Mearns Avenue, Freeland Avenue and Liberty Street; eastbound buses detour via Middle Road/Scugog Street, Bons Avenue, Freeland Avenue and Mearns Avenue. Eight stops will not be served, including Longworth Avenue stops at Rickaby, Swindells and Liberty, plus Liberty Street stops at Freeland and Bons.

Temporary stops are available at Mearns at Longworth, Freeland at Rickaby and Swindells, and Bons westbound at Liberty, DRT says.
