Voting in Clarington's 2026 municipal election opens Tuesday, October 20 at 10 a.m. and runs through Election Day, Monday, October 26 at 8 p.m., the Municipality of Clarington announced.
Clarington votes electronically only - by internet or by telephone. Electors can cast a ballot from anywhere using an internet-connected device or a phone. To log in to the voting system, you need your Personal Identification Number (PIN) from your Voter Information Letter and your full date of birth as recorded on the voters' list.
Electors on the voters' list receive a voter information letter by mail in early October with voting instructions and the Election Assistance Centre locations. Anyone who did not receive a letter may not be on the list - contact the Municipal Clerk's Division, or visit any Election Assistance Centre, to add your name. Revisions are accepted September 1 through October 26 at the Municipal Administrative Centre, 40 Temperance Street, Bowmanville, or at an Election Assistance Centre.
Election Assistance Centres, equipped with voting kiosks and staff to help with the process, operate on specific dates and times during October 20-26 at recreation complexes and Clarington Public Library branches in Bowmanville, Courtice, Newcastle and Orono. On Election Day, October 26, centres run 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at seven locations, including the Courtice Community Complex, Diane Hamre Recreation Complex, Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, Orono Town Hall, Solina Community Hall, South Courtice Arena and the Tyrone Community Centre. For help, call 905-697-4747 or email votes@clarington.net.
