Clarington says a portion of the Waterfront Trail between Bennett Road in Bowmanville and Service Road in Newcastle is temporarily closed. Maintenance work is underway along the affected section.
The municipality expects the work to be completed by the end of the day Thursday, September 24, if weather permits. The closure remains in effect while crews complete the maintenance; Clarington did not specify a precise reopening time.
Residents can use alternate routes through the Clarington trail network while the section is closed. The municipality directs trail users to its website for trail maps and information and thanked residents for their patience.
