Clarington Council adopted a new Community Improvement Plan at a special meeting on August 10. The municipality says the plan is intended to support housing, investment and business growth.
The updated plan will designate all of Clarington as a Community Improvement Project Area beginning January 1, 2027. The municipality says that replaces the previous approach focused on separate downtown areas.
Clarington says the plan has 15 incentive programs across six focus areas, including downtown commercial improvements, housing, employment lands, on-farm diversification, brownfield redevelopment, and conference and banquet facilities.
