Durham Regional Police say Geraldine, a missing, vulnerable 77-year-old woman from Oshawa, has been located safe and sound, police say in an update posted Saturday evening. Geraldine had been reported missing earlier on Saturday after she was last in the area of Stevenson Road North and King Street West at approximately 11:15 a.m., according to the original police appeal.

Police had described Geraldine as female, brown, 5-foot-5 and 140 pounds, with short white and grey hair worn in a bun. She was wearing a cream-coloured jacket and grey track pants, police said in the original appeal.

Police ask the public to remove Geraldine's image from circulation and to stop sharing the missing-person alert, police say in the update. Readers should not continue circulating the earlier appeal.
