The City of Oshawa has installed new Art and Culture in the Hall exhibitions at City Hall, featuring work by five local artists selected from the City's Call for Artists, the City says.

The exhibitions are on display outside the Council chambers at City Hall, 50 Centre St. S., and will remain up until Monday, February 1, 2027, according to the City.

The featured artists are Samantha Kelly, Margaret Rodgers, Leila Farsi, Charlotte Hill and Lionel Furs. Kelly's photography and paintings explore family heritage, grief, emotion and memory, drawing on her family's move from Malta to Oshawa in 1962; Rodgers, an Oshawa-based artist, writer and curator, works in painting, drawing and photo-based media including solar printing; Farsi is a Persian calligraphy artist with more than 20 years of experience; Hill, born and raised in Oshawa, paints in acrylic and oil, evoking nostalgia for growing up in the city; and Furs has lived and worked in Oshawa since 1959.

The City announced the new exhibitions on Friday, inviting residents to stop by City Hall to view the work. Art and Culture in the Hall is the City's exhibition program celebrating local artistic and creative talent, with exhibitions updated throughout the year.
