Easton Community Park, affectionately nicknamed Rainbow Park, welcomed residents back on October 31 after its major redevelopment, the City of Oshawa said. The park is located at 900 Adelaide Ave. E.

The redeveloped park includes junior and senior playgrounds featuring Oshawa's first wheelchair-accessible swing, a splash pad, a full-size multi-use sport court for basketball and ball hockey, seating areas and shade structures, a walking loop and pathways, upgraded parking including accessible spaces, native tree planting and open green space, and improved accessibility and safety features throughout, according to the City.

The City said the park's new design was shaped by feedback received from community members during public engagement. City staff marked the reopening with a community celebration on October 31 featuring information tables, recreation activities, Halloween treats and fall-themed fun.
