Metrolinx will build a new railway bridge over Wilson Road in Oshawa, south of the existing Canadian Pacific Kansas City rail bridge, as part of the Bowmanville Extension, according to a Metrolinx construction notice dated October 26, 2026. Work is expected to run from November 16, 2026, to September 29, 2028, on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The work includes the bridge substructure, including construction ramps, abutments and retaining walls, followed by the span and bridge deck, along with track corridor embankment work, utility relocations, site restoration and landscaping, the notice says.

Two-way traffic will be maintained during the first phase of work, with minor delays possible near the work zone, and businesses in the area will remain open, Metrolinx says. Temporary sidewalk closures or pedestrian detours may be in place while work is underway, and Metrolinx says there is no anticipated impact to transit services.
