Durham Regional Police say officers responded at about 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, to reports of gunfire in the area of Shadybrook Drive and Edgewood Road in Pickering. A resident reported hearing multiple gunshots outside the home and contacted police.

Officers found several shell casings on the roadway and found that a residence and two vehicles parked in the driveway had been damaged by gunfire, police say. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and determined that a lone suspect wearing black clothing approached the residence on foot and discharged multiple rounds at vehicles parked in the driveway before fleeing the area on foot.

No physical injuries were reported. Investigators believe the incident was isolated. Police are asking anyone with video footage or information to contact D/Cst. Ferreira of the West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 905-579-1520, ext. 1905.
