An Oshawa family is asking the Durham community for support after losing Tina, a wife and mother of two, to metastatic breast cancer on Nov. 3, 2026.

Tina fought the disease for more than seven years. She and her husband Andrew were together for 23 years — 8,390 days, as he puts it — building a life, a home and a family in Oshawa with their children, Andrew, 13, and Cecily, 10.

Andrew describes Tina as an incredible wife and mother — compassionate, loyal and selfless — who always put her family first and fought hard to stay with the people she loved.

The family has started a GoFundMe, ‘Help support Tina’s family after passing,’ to help with funeral expenses, household bills and mortgage payments while Andrew raises the children on his own. As of Saturday afternoon, it had raised more than $11,800 toward a $25,000 goal, with 67 donations.

Andrew says sharing Tina’s story and the fundraiser would mean a great deal to the family, and he thanked the community for the love and support shown so far. The fundraiser can be found at https://gofund.me/6a22ea449.
