The Durham Catholic District School Board has opened its 2026 Digital Christmas Card Design Contest to students in Grades 3 to 8 across Durham Region. The contest runs from Nov. 2 to Nov. 20, 2026, and the winning design will be announced in early December.
Designs should celebrate the birth of Jesus and the hope and joy he brings, and may also reflect Christian values such as faith, love, peace, kindness and care for the community. The winning artwork will be featured as the board's official 2026 digital Christmas card, shared with families, staff, parishes, community partners and supporters of Catholic education across Durham Region.
Artwork must be the student's own original work, fit within an 8.5-by-11-inch page, and be submitted digitally as a PDF, JPEG or PNG file. AI-generated artwork and copyrighted or trademarked material are not permitted. Designs should be emailed to communications@dcdsb.ca by Nov. 20, 2026, with the subject line "DCDSB Christmas Card Contest Submission" and the student's name, grade and school in the body of the email. The winning student will be recognized by the board and invited to present the design at the Regular Board Meeting on Dec. 14, 2026.
