Elexicon Energy says its annual charity golf tournament has raised a cumulative $1.5 million to support vital community agencies, including a record-breaking $435,000 in 2026, the company announced Oct. 30, 2026. This year's tournament put a spotlight on health care, recognizing the role local health organizations play in the communities the utility serves.
Tournament proceeds will benefit six organizations, Elexicon says: the Belleville General Hospital Foundation, the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation, the Gravenhurst Health Hub, the Lakeridge Health Foundation, the Port Perry Hospital Foundation and The Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre. The Lakeridge Health Foundation says its share will help replace a reverse osmosis machine in the dialysis centre at Lakeridge Health Whitby, while the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation says Elexicon's support contributes to the campaign for the redevelopment of Lakeridge Health Bowmanville Hospital.
Elexicon is owned by five municipalities — the City of Pickering, the Town of Ajax, the Town of Whitby, the City of Belleville and the Municipality of Clarington — and provides electricity distribution to nearly 200,000 residential and business customers, according to the company. Elexicon says the $1.5-million total reflects the generosity of supporters and contributors and the work of volunteers.
