GO Transit has expanded rush-hour service on the Lakeshore East line, adding six new trips between Oshawa or Whitby and Union Station beginning October 27, Metrolinx says. The expansion adds three morning trips toward Toronto and three afternoon trips heading to Whitby.
The new morning trips are a 6:23 a.m. departure from Oshawa GO arriving at Union Station at 7:27 a.m., a 6:48 a.m. departure from Whitby GO arriving at 7:47 a.m., and a 7:48 a.m. departure from Whitby GO arriving at 8:47 a.m., Metrolinx says. All three make all stops.
The new afternoon trips leave Union Station at 4:13 p.m., 4:43 p.m. and 5:13 p.m., arriving at Whitby GO at 5:10 p.m., 5:40 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. respectively, Metrolinx says. All three make all stops.
Metrolinx says schedules have also been adjusted to better reflect actual travel times, and riders should check updated schedules on GOTransit.com and plan trips in advance. The Lakeshore East changes are part of wider GO service enhancements starting October 27 that also add rush-hour trips on the Lakeshore West, Barrie and Stouffville lines.
