Operation Cozy Toes is back in Whitby for 2026, collecting cozy socks and new unwrapped toys for people in the community experiencing homelessness and for CTV's Toy Mountain in support of the Salvation Army, according to the Town of Whitby's Mayor's Monthly Newsletter for November.

Mayor Elizabeth Roy launched the initiative in 2024 to collect warm socks for people experiencing homelessness, and it expanded in 2025 to include toy donations for CTV's Toy Mountain in support of the Salvation Army. This year, the drive is once again collecting cozy socks and new unwrapped toys.

Donation barrels are available from Nov. 2 to Dec. 4 at 13 locations: Jacked Up Coffee, 132 Brock St. N.; Vintage 905, 108 Dundas St. W.; The Souk, 113 Brock St. S.; 8-Bit Beans, 100 Brock St. S.; Marito's Coffee & Things, 105 Mary St. W.; Whitby Town Hall, 575 Rossland Rd. E.; Whitby Public Library's Central, Brooklin and Rossland branches; Whitby 55+ Recreation Centre, 801 Brock St. S.; Whitby MP Ryan Turnbull's constituency office, 400 Dundas St. W., Suite 105; Wellings of Whitby, 368 Taunton Rd. E.; and Salvation Army Whitby, 710 McQuay Blvd.

The Town says anyone who is able to donate is asked to consider contributing to help brighten the holidays for those in need in the community.
