Ryan Polley, a motorcyclist in the Durham region, is appealing for help on his road to recovery after a serious motorcycle crash on Sept. 3 left him with shattered wrists, a broken foot and a fractured pelvis, the Durham Post reports.

Polley was left with very limited use of his arms and has since moved from hospital into respite care. To cover ongoing physiotherapy, occupational therapy, respite care, adaptive equipment and transport to appointments that his insurance will not cover, he started his own GoFundMe campaign on Sept. 28.

As of the Oct. 22 report, the campaign had raised $2,042 of its $4,500 goal from 19 donors.
