The Township of Brock is inviting residents and other interested community members to a design brainstorming session for proposed McHattie Park in the Marydel subdivision. The park site is at the end of Foster Hewitt Street in Beaverton. The meeting is scheduled for October 13, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Foster Hewitt Memorial Community Centre Auditorium, 176 Main Street, Beaverton.
Participants will be able to suggest how the park could be used, identify features and amenities that matter to the community, and discuss priorities. The Township says attendees can work with Landscape Architect HKLA and Township staff through sketching, idea boards, surveys and other activities.
The session is intended to gather ideas for the park’s landscape, play, recreation, gathering and natural areas. The project team will review the feedback and use it to help guide the design.
Written comments can be emailed to parksandrecreation@brock.ca or mailed or dropped off at the Municipal Office, 1 Cameron Street East in Cannington. The notice is dated September 23, 2026.
