The Township of Brock says its fire department is seeking volunteer firefighters to staff its three stations in Sunderland, Cannington and Beaverton.

The positions are paid on-call roles, with pay ranging from $17.95 to $25.36 per hour depending on response, training and qualifications, according to the Township's job posting.

Volunteer firefighters respond to calls including medical assists, motor vehicle collisions, structure and grass fires, spills and gas leaks, and ice and water rescues, and carry a pager for calls at any hour, the posting says.

Applicants must be 18 or older, hold a valid Class G driver's licence, have a minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, and provide a clean vulnerable sector screening, the Township says.

Applicants must also live or work within a 10-minute travel time of their assigned station, and new recruits must pass National Fire Protection Association testing in Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Hazmat Awareness and Hazmat Operations to advance past probation.

Interested applicants are asked to submit a resume and cover letter to hr@brock.ca no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2026, the Township says.
