The Town of Whitby scheduled the September 12 event at Fieldgate Sports Complex, 2 Gathering Place. The schedule listed a ribbon-cutting from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and drop-in activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The notice listed badminton, pickleball, basketball, dance and fitness activities among the planned recreation options.
Whitby described the complex as having a twin-pad arena, aquatics centre, double gymnasium with a walking track, and community and program spaces.
