A new Seniors Active Living Centre is coming to the Sandford Community Centre in Uxbridge. MPP Peter Bethlenfalvy, alongside Minister Raymond Cho, announced the centre will receive $41,250 in annual funding.
Bethlenfalvy said the investment will help local seniors stay active, build meaningful social connections and remain engaged in community life, while Cho said Active Living Centres keep seniors fit, active, healthy and socially connected close to their homes.
The provincial government is committing close to $23 million to support 416 Seniors Active Living Centre programs, including 97 new ones. Mayor Dave Barton said the funding is pivotal for local seniors, particularly those in rural areas.
