Durham Region transit to extend three routes starting Oct 19

Durham Region Transit will extend routes 112, 118 and 306 to serve new growth areas in Seaton and west Whitby starting Oct 19, with new GO Bus connections at the Brock Road and Highway 407 station; minor schedule tweaks come to routes 410, 423, 900 and 916.

Starting Oct 19, 2026, Durham Region Transit will extend service to new growth areas in Seaton and west Whitby, the transit agency says, as part of the first year of its Driving Durham 2030 service strategy.

Route 112 will be extended to the Brock Road and Highway 407 station via Brock Road, with connections to GO Bus service, and weekend service will shift to a counter-clockwise loop in Seaton. Route 118 will also reach the Brock Road and Highway 407 station via Whites Road, Sideline 24 and Highway 7, and gain Saturday and Sunday service between about 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. every 30 minutes.

Route 306 will be extended in both directions along Coronation Road to Taunton Road, adding new stops including Coronation at Taunton, and will no longer run along Cochrane Road between Dundas Street and Rossland Road. Smaller changes include trip-time adjustments on routes 410, 423, 900 and 916; DRT notes its On Demand service may be an option when Routes 112 and 118 are not operating.
