The Region of Durham is advising residents of service impacts in observance of Thanksgiving Day on Monday, October 12. All Durham Regional facilities will be closed, including regional headquarters, Provincial Offences Courts and offices, Ontario Works offices, Child Care and Early Years Division offices and front counters.
The eight directly-operated Early Learning and Child Care centres, all Family Services Durham locations, and Ontario Works offices in Ajax, Oshawa and Uxbridge will also be closed. Health Department clinics will be unavailable, and water sample drop-off and pick-up is suspended on Friday, October 9 and Monday, October 12 at four regional locations.
Durham Region Transit will operate on weekend service, with the Specialized Services/On Demand call centre open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. while the customer service desk and call centre are closed. Durham Region Outreach remains available for homelessness support.
