Courtice Intermediate lands $19K MusiCounts grant for school instruments

Courtice Intermediate School has received a $19,000 MusiCounts grant for instruments and equipment, while Queen Elizabeth Public School received $8,000, the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board announced.

Courtice Intermediate School in Courtice will use its $19,000 grant to buy instruments, equipment and resources aimed at making music education accessible and inclusive for all students, according to the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.

Queen Elizabeth Public School received $8,000 to expand access to instruments and learning resources in support of its Intermediate Guitar Program, led by music teacher Derek Weatherdon.

The grants are part of MusiCounts' School Music Funding Program, which announced a historic $1.4-million investment reaching 96 schools across Canada.
