Students at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School shared their learning on September 29 by displaying Orange Shirt designs and written reflections in the school’s main foyer. The school says the display was prepared ahead of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Each homeroom class was given the opportunity to learn about and reflect on the experiences and history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, and to engage in meaningful conversations.
The students expressed their learning through creative designs on orange paper shirts. The board said the display serves as a reminder to learn from the past, honour Survivors and their families, and continue the journey toward truth, understanding and reconciliation.
