About Beaver River Wetland Trail

The Beaver River Wetland Trail follows a former railway corridor between Blackwater and Cannington. Its long, flat sections pass wetland habitat used by herons, red-winged blackbirds, turtles, muskrats and beavers.

The Blackwater–Cannington section is managed by LSRCA. Recent improvements added rest areas and bicycle repair stations. Keep to the public trail: neighbouring preserve land has different access rules, and the 11th Concession bridge remains closed to motorised vehicles.

What to see and do

  • Former railway corridor
  • Beaver River wetland views
  • Walking and cycling
  • Trail rest areas

Before you go

Use the public trail rather than adjacent nature-preserve lands. Check LSRCA’s current closure notices; its present bridge notice restricts motorised vehicles at the 11th Concession crossing while permitting pedestrians and cyclists.
