Beaver River Museum
A volunteer museum of four historic buildings beside the Beaver River in Beaverton, run by the Beaverton Thorah Eldon Historical Society.
About Beaver River Museum
The Beaver River Museum is operated by the Beaverton Thorah Eldon Historical Society, established in 1976 to preserve the history of Beaverton and the former townships of Thorah and Eldon. Four historic buildings on the edge of Mill Gate Park overlook the Beaver River and hold more than 10,000 artifacts and archives.
The society publishes seasonal hours: weekends only from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. between May 18 and June 30 and through September, then Thursday to Monday at the same times in July and August. The museum is one of three in Brock Township, with the Cannington and Sunderland historical societies operating the others. Visits outside the posted hours need a direct check with the society.
