Police seek suspect in Whitby restaurant break-and-enter

Durham police are asking the public to help identify a suspect in a September break-and-enter at a Whitby restaurant, which investigators link to similar incidents in 2025.

Durham Regional Police say they are looking for a male suspect in connection with a commercial break-and-enter at Los Cabos restaurant in Whitby on Friday, September 18, 2026, during which currency was stolen.

Investigators believe the same suspect may be responsible for several similar break-and-enters at Whitby restaurants in 2025, and are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information to contact police.

No charges have been laid in connection with the appeal, and the person sought is presumed innocent. Police have released a suspect photo as part of their appeal.
