Drivers in Scugog will face daily lane restrictions on Regional Highway 47 starting Monday, October 19, as Durham Region begins a road rehabilitation project that runs through June 30, 2027. The work pauses for winter from December 15, 2026 to May 5, 2027, the Region said, and unfavourable weather could further shift the schedule.
The affected stretch runs from 230 metres east of Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) to 250 metres west of Highway 12 in the Township of Scugog. Crews will replace a culvert, improve ditching, and resurface and pave the roadway, with temporary daily lane restrictions needed throughout to keep the work safe and efficient.
The Region says it will work to complete the project as quickly as possible and asks drivers to exercise caution for pedestrians, cyclists and work crews. Live construction and traffic updates are available at the Region's TrafficWatch page.
