Voting in Scugog's 2026 municipal and school board election opened Wednesday, October 14 at 10 a.m. and runs through Election Day, Monday, October 26 at 8 p.m., the Township of Scugog announced. Council approved both internet voting and paper ballots with optical scan tabulators for this election.

Electors can vote online from any device with internet access at any time during the voting window, following the instructions in their Voter Information Package, which was mailed to all registered electors in early October. The package is used with an authentication process to log in and vote. The Township will not be using phone-based voting. Anyone who did not receive a package, or whose information is wrong, can call the election help desk at 905-985-2791 or email election@scugog.ca, or visit the Municipal Office at 181 Perry Street in Port Perry during regular office hours.

In-person paper-ballot voting is available at four locations, and electors may vote at any of them: the Scugog Community Recreation Centre (1655 Reach Street, Port Perry), Greenbank Centennial Hall (19965 Highway 12, Greenbank), the Blackstock Recreation Complex (3440 Church Street, Blackstock) and Scugog Island Hall (2710 Demara Road, Port Perry). Bring the Voter Information Package and acceptable identification. Voting Assistance Centres are open October 16 (2 to 8 p.m., all locations), October 17 and 18 (10 a.m. to 8 p.m., all locations), October 19 through 22 (2 to 8 p.m., Scugog Community Recreation Centre only), and on Election Day, October 26 (10 a.m. to 8 p.m., all locations).

To vote, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, and a Scugog resident — or an owner or tenant of land in the township, or their spouse. The township is divided into five wards; the Mayor and Regional Councillor are elected at large. Check whether you are on the voters' list, and find full voter information, ward maps and candidate details, at scugog.ca/election.
