Scugog voters weighing their choice for mayor can now watch the candidates make their cases: Rogers tv has posted its 2026 Scugog Mayoral Forum in full to YouTube.
The recording, about 1 hour and 22 minutes long, was posted on Sept. 21 and is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oveuGXIhwGI
Rogers tv is the region's community broadcaster, and its forum gives residents who couldn't attend a candidate event in person a direct look at the people seeking the township's top job.
Context for voters: on Oct. 26, Scugog elects a mayor, a regional councillor and ward councillors to guide the township for the next four years.
Another chance to compare candidates is coming: an independent community-organized debate featuring the mayoral, regional council and Ward 4 council candidates takes place Oct. 13 at the Nestleton Community Centre — see Daily Durham's preview for details.
