Former NHL stars Darcy Tucker and Jeremy Roenick are coming to Port Perry on Nov. 21 to play locals in the 'Hockey Night in Port Perry' game at the Scugog Arena, the Port Perry Star reports, with all proceeds supporting Oak Ridges Hospice.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the puck drops at 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 each, with $150 VIP tickets that include premium seating and a catered post-game reception with silent auctions and a Q-and-A with the celebrity players; general admission is free for children under 10.
Locals can earn a roster spot by raising or donating at least $1,500 -- 22 player and goalie spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis -- while one national anthem singer spot requires at least $500 and ten coach, trainer and referee spots are available through dhaugen@oakridgeshospice.com. Last year's sold-out event raised $106,000, and this year's goal is $130,000.
