Pickering hosts naloxone and opioid response meeting Oct 21 at CHDRC

The City of Pickering will host a community safety meeting on naloxone and opioid response on October 21 at the CHDRC O'Brien Rooms, with a harm-reduction panel and naloxone training for attendees.

The City of Pickering will hold a Community Safety Meeting: Naloxone & Opioid Response on Wednesday, October 21, at the CHDRC (O'Brien Rooms).

The event features a panel discussion with harm reduction workers from the John Howard Society of Durham Region, Durham Community Health Centre and the AIDS Committee of Durham Region, according to the city's Let's Talk Pickering page.

Attendees will receive naloxone training, learning how to recognize opioid poisoning and how to respond. The event was organized in partnership with a local youth advocate; registration is available at LetsTalkPickering.ca/CSWB.
