The new Catholic elementary school under construction at Hibiscus Drive and Burkholder Avenue in Pickering's Seaton area will be named St. Carlo Acutis Catholic School, the Durham Catholic District School Board announced. Frank Cardinal Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto, blessed the name following the community consultation, and the Ministry of Education has confirmed it.

The board says the school will welcome students and families in September 2027, serving the growing Seaton area as a place where students are encouraged to grow in faith, learning and service.

Construction updates and more information will continue to be shared on the board's website.
