Motorcyclist, 21, seriously hurt in Pickering collision; pedestrian also injured

A 21-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious, life-altering injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Liverpool Road north of Bayly Street in Pickering on Wednesday afternoon; a pedestrian struck by debris suffered minor injuries.

A 21-year-old man suffered serious, life-altering injuries after a motorcycle collision in Pickering on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Durham Regional Police say the motorcyclist remains in a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious but stable condition.

The collision happened at about 4:35 p.m. on Liverpool Road north of Bayly Street. Police say the motorcyclist was travelling southbound when the motorcycle lost control and left the roadway; debris struck a pedestrian who was walking southbound on Liverpool Road, causing minor injuries. The pedestrian was treated at a local hospital.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call D/Cst. Daniels at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5226, or contact Durham Regional Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
