The Region of Durham is advising drivers to expect lane restrictions on Peter Matthews Drive (Regional Road 28) in Pickering from October 12 to November 20, 2026. The work zone runs from just south of Burkholder Drive to Alexander Knox Road (Regional Road 40), where crews will adjust catch basins and maintenance holes and lay fresh surface asphalt in support of new development.

One lane will remain open at all times, with traffic control personnel on site to direct traffic. The Region notes the schedule could shift in unfavourable weather and asks drivers to exercise caution around pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.

Live construction updates are available on the Region's interactive TrafficWatch map at durham.ca/TrafficWatch.
