Work at the intersection of Westney Road and Concession Road 6 in Pickering will reduce lanes in the coming weeks, according to the Pickering News Advertiser, citing the Region of Durham. Contractor D Rock Paving will be on site in early October to begin preparations, with construction expected to finish by November 15, weather permitting.

The project includes crosswalk installation and pavement works: removing and replacing existing concrete curb, new concrete sidewalks at all four corners with tactile walking surface indicators, new asphalt, and fresh lane and crosswalk markings. Temporary lane closures will be required during construction, affecting local traffic.

The Region advises residents to proceed with caution for the safety of workers, pedestrians and cyclists, and notes equipment may cause noise and ground vibrations for those nearby.
