The City of Oshawa is looking for volunteers to help bring its community events to life, promoting the call on its official Instagram account on October 21, according to the city's volunteering page.

Event volunteers support free community events across the city throughout the year. Typical roles include event greeters, event assistants who help with set up and vendors, survey takers, rewards assistants who run games, and administrative support.

Applicants must be at least 15 years old, and those under 18 need a guardian's consent. Volunteers attend a mandatory orientation and commit to at least three events, or about eight hours, per year; eligible high school volunteer hours are recognized.

Applications for the fall intake close at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2026, and only candidates selected for a virtual interview will be contacted.
