Oshawa: redeveloped Renaissance Park opens October 22 with celebration

The Renaissance Park redevelopment is near completion and residents are invited to return and enjoy the neighbourhood park at 1529 Connery Cres beginning October 22, the City of Oshawa has announced.

City staff will host a community celebration on October 22 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. featuring recreation activities, City information tables and fall-themed fun.

The completed park features accessible pathways that connect to the waterfront trail, an accessible playground with slides, climbers and sensory play, a splash pad with overhead and ground spray features, accessible seating areas, a shade structure, outdoor fitness equipment, a nature outlook area with native plantings that support local wildlife, and native tree and shrub plantings throughout.

The City says the redevelopment delivers a modern, accessible and welcoming community space where residents can gather, play and stay active while enjoying connections to Oshawa's waterfront and natural surroundings, and thanked residents who took part in the consultation process.
