Internet voting for Oshawa's municipal election opens at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13 and runs until 8 p.m. on Voting Day, Monday, Oct. 26. The city is reminding residents to watch for their Voter Information Letter, which contains online-ballot instructions, a unique voter registration number and voting locations.
The letter is addressed personally, and the city advises residents to protect it like banking information. Anyone who has not received it by Friday, Oct. 9 may not be on the Voters' List and can add or update their information at oshawa.ca/VotersList until Thursday, Oct. 15.
Those still without a letter by Friday, Oct. 16 can visit a Voter Assistance Centre at City Hall, 50 Centre St. S., open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on scheduled dates from Oct. 13 to 23. Voters may use any Voter Assistance Centre during advance voting but must go to one in their own ward on Voting Day, when only paper ballots are available. Questions can go to the Office of the City Clerk at 905-436-5639 or vote@oshawa.ca; details are at voteoshawa.ca.
