A Grade 5 student from Oshawa has been sworn in as Durham Regional Police's Chief for a Day.
Anayta Sehrawat of Bobby Orr Public School recited her oath alongside Chief Peter Moreira, according to an announcement from Durham Regional Police.
She was selected from more than 100 Grade 5 students across Durham Region who entered the service's annual essay contest.
Police say the mini-chief will spend her day touring various DRPS units and meeting the members who help keep communities safe.
