Oshawa Generals rout Windsor Spitfires 5-1 as Hedley nets hat trick

The Oshawa Generals got back in the win column on Saturday night in Windsor, Ontario, beating the Spitfires 5-1 behind a hat trick from Ryan Hedley, according to the team's official recap.

Newly named captain Harrison Franssen opened the scoring on a rebound before Hedley added his first, giving Oshawa a 2-0 lead after the first period. Brennan Huyck and Hedley's second goal made it 4-0 in the second, and Hedley completed the hat trick in the third. Goaltender Matthew Humphries stopped 23 of 24 shots.

The win snapped a two-game skid and ended an over-two-game scoreless streak. The Generals return home on October 18 to host the Kitchener Rangers, debuting their new Black & Gold jerseys.
