The Oshawa Generals lost 2-1 to the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday night at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, their third consecutive defeat, according to the Rangers' official recap.
After a scoreless first period, Kitchener's Jack LaBrash broke the deadlock at 14:22 of the second, deflecting home his first goal of the season off an Avry Anstis shot. Tanner Lam doubled the lead 2:19 into the third, knifing through the Generals' defence for his team-leading sixth goal of the season.
Onni Kalto pulled Oshawa within one with 2:26 remaining, firing home his third of the season, but the Generals' late push came up short. Kitchener goaltender Jason Schaubel stopped 21 of 22 shots, while Oshawa's Humphries turned aside 20 of 22; both teams finished with 22 shots, and both power plays came up empty.
The loss was Oshawa's third in as many days, following overtime defeats at Kingston (5-4, Oct. 16) and against Ottawa (2-1, Oct. 17). The Generals visit the Peterborough Petes on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7:05 p.m.
