The accepted materials include leaves, brush, garden trimmings, weeds, plants, corn stalks, fallen fruit, pine needles and pine cones. Twigs and brush must be bundled, no longer than 1.2 metres, lighter than 20 kg and no more than 10 centimetres in diameter.
Grass clippings, soil, sod, stones, clay, hay or straw bales, tree stumps, trunks, large branches, lumber, plastic flowers and plant pots are excluded. Plastic bags, artificial Christmas trees and Christmas trees in plastic bags are also not accepted.
Yard waste must be placed in paper bags or clearly marked open-top containers weighing less than 20 kg. Pumpkins and gourds will be collected on the first yard-waste collection day after Halloween.
